A responsible group

Grosfillex has always adopted an eco-responsible approach and has used its pioneering spirit to further sustainable development in terms of raw materials and transformation processes

In terms of materials, cadmium was removed as early as 1996 and lead was replaced with calcium zinc in 2003, a move that was approved by the French national organisation CSTB the same year.

Today, all the raw materials we use comply with the European Reach regulation requirements that guarantee that the products present no risk for users and are 100% recyclable.

As a leader turned toward the future, Grosfillex is at the head of the research group SYRIMAP (eco-compatible fire-proofing), a subsidised programme with a total investment of 4 million Euros.

All our production sites in France have now been upgraded to operate with LED lighting. Regarding processes, by end of 2019, all cooling for our industrial equipment will be performed by latest generation energy-efficient installations using no greenhouse effect gases.

Moreover, in partnership with EDF, Grosfillex is engaged in a PPE project – Energy Performance Plan – to carry out actions aiming to reduce energy consumption (speed adjustment, optimised use of compressed air, optimized use of calories generated by the processes to heat the industrial premises etc).

Grosfillex has significantly reduced water consumption thanks to closed circuit cooling systems specific to the processes and generates no waste associated with production wastage thanks to internal sorting and recycling/regeneration installations that reuse the raw materials. All other types of waste are sorted in view of reuse/valorisation.

Other initiatives such as carpooling, collective transport for employees and the creation of satellite warehousing in European countries we often ship to also contribute to reduce Grosfillex’s environmental footprint.
